This video was taken during the Traditional Dance Semi Final Competition on 24/4/2014 at SM Sayyidina Abu Bakar, Jalan 77, Lambak Kanan. Our pupils performed the "Samalindang" dance. Alhamdulillah, there's a lot of improvements from the last Preliminary round. Well done girls. Hope you enjoyed the video.

PSR 2013

Alhamdulillah.

SR Sungai Liang managed to score 96.77%  for PSR this year with 2 pupils getting 5'A's. Congratulation to Nur Syifayura Shafira bt Suffri & Sazeera bt Serungi for their outstanding results. This year SR Sungai Liang improved drastically from last year's result that is and we ranked 2nd place throughout KB schools in PSR. Thanks to all teachers for your hardwork and commitment.

Event started with the arrival of the Guest Of Honour, Tuan Saifulillah b Hj Ahmid from Human Resource & Corporate Services Manager, Brunei Methanol Company. Then the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa lead by Ustaz Ak Hj Reduan b Pg Hj Tengah. A welcoming speech was given by Cg Siti Norradziah bt Hj Matali, Chairperson of the event continued with the Achievements Awards presentation.

After the presentation, the guests were entertained by several performances from Pra to Year 5.

At the end of the event, a token of appreciation was given to the GOH.

"Because We Care"

Yesterday morning, our Year 6, Year 5 pupils and 2 teachers were involved with the "Because We Care" cleaning campaign organised by BMC. 5 schools from Liang-Lumut Zon were involved in this event. At 7.10am, we were brought to Sg Liang Recreational Park where the event were held. On our arrival, we were given gloves and face towel for our use during the campaign. Breakfast was prepared for the teachers and guest as for the pupils their beverages were given in the bus on the way to the event venue.


Then, after breakfast the event started off with an aerobic conducted by one of the BMC's staff. Everyone had fun during the aerobic. A short briefing were given about the event. We were given into 4 groups. Our school were in-charged to clean the beach area along with SR Lumut and Gemilang Cemerlang School.


After one hour, everyone gathered back to the park. Before we had our refreshments, a certificate of appreciation were given to every school involved. Then a photo session with the GOH and lastly refreshments.


We're all tired but we're happy to help conserve our environment "Because We Care". We would like to thank BMC for involving us and also thanks for the "Because We Care" shirt.

"HEALTHY LIANGS"

SR Sungai Liang launched a Community Outreach Programme called "Healthy Liangs" today with SR Sg Liang's PIBGs. The Guest of Honour was Hj Wahab bin Abdullah, Ketua Kampong Sungai Liang. We also invited several officers from JSS. The launching began with the recital of Doa Selamat by Ustaz Ak Hj Reduan bin Pg Hj Tengah. Then a welcoming speech was given by Cg Siti Norradziah bte Hj Matali, our PGB as well as the Chairperson of the ceremony. Shortly after that, "Healthy Liangs" was launched by hitting  a Gong 3 times by the Guest of Honour. After the launched, a short video were played on the activities that had been done in SR Sungai Liang.

To start of "Healthy Liangs", an aerobic was performed which was conducted by our very own Aerobic Conductor, Miss Stacey Hickman with SR Sungai Liang's aerobic team. Immediately after that, we had brisk walking towards Taman Peranginan Sungai Liang. We rested for a while then we continued our brisk walk back to school. During this activity, we were accompanied by Pasukan Polis Sungai Liang and Pasukan Medic Sungai Liang.

At the end of the programme, everyone had a healthy refreshment as to support our "Healthy Liangs" programme.

We would like to convey our greatest thanks to our Guest of Honour, Hj Wahab bin Abdullah, Ketua Kampong Sungai, for making time to support our Community Outreach Programme. And also we would like to thank everyone involved in making this launching a success.

Teacher's Day Celebration @ SRSL

This morning SRSL's PIBG organized a Teacher's Day celebration for SRSL teachers. Everything was prepared by the PIBGs. At 8.30am, Haji Maidin, the head of PIBG, lead us, teachers to the hall lead by two lower primary girls carrying the bunga rampai to the hall. We were greeted by parents and pupils who had been asked to be in the hall at 8am. Teacher's day song were played during our entrance.


The event started with the recitation of Al-Fatihah and an opening speech by the head of PIBG, Haji Maidin. Then, our PGB, Cg Siti Norradziah, were asked to cut a Teacher's Day cake on stage with a teacher's day song sang immediately after that. Performances were performed by selected pupils from different levels (rehearsals were done by PIBGs too). There's also a Poco-Poco dance performed by the Year 3 pupils.


In between the performances were "Lucky Teacher's Name Draw" and also lucky draw for pupils. There's also several appreciation awards given to SRSL's veteren teachers who had contributed a lot for the school and pupils. At the end of the event, a video of an activities conducted in SRSL for the last 3 years were played.


Teachers and parents had their refreshments in the Munaqasah Room. A recitation of Doa were lead by Ustaz Ak Hj Reduan.


Alhamdulillah, the event went well eventhough there's a heavy shower after half an hour the event had started.


We, teachers of SR Sungai Liang, would like to convey our thanks and appreciation to SR Sungai Liang's PIBG for the lovely event. Thank you very much.

HARI RAYA CELEBRATION WITH SRSL PIBGS

We had our Hari Raya celebration this morning. It began at 8.30 am with the recital of Al-Fatihah and Doa by Ustaz Ak Hj Reduan. Then a speech was given by our PIBG Pengerusi, Cg Md Sandy Suwardy. The first performance were performed by Yr 3 and Yr 4 boys with the Takbir Raya and "Balik Kampong" song. Next a song of "Selamat Hari Raya" were performed by our Yr 2 pupils. Yr 4 girls performed the "Sesuci Lebaran" song from Siti Nurhaliza. "Suasana Hari raya" by Anuar Zain and Ellina were performed by Yr 6 Gemilang. The last performance by pupils were performed by our Yr 5 Choir Team, "Nikmat Hari Raya". Shortky after that, a video of the final anti drug competition video were played for the audiences. After the video, our Yr 5 Choir Team performed their "Say NDA" anti drug choir song. In between the performances, there were lucky draws for the pupils, teachers and parents. Prizes were sponsored by a few of the teachers.


After performances from the pupils, SRSL teachers performed a Hari Raya song, "Seloka Hari Raya". There were also fashion show competition for the audiences. It was a surprise. Cg Rodzah was selected as the Best Dressed for teacher's category.


At 10 am, the pupils had their refreshments. While having their refreshments, a few of the parents sang a few Hari Raya songs to entertain the pupils and teachers. Parents and teachers had their refreshments in Bilik Munaqasah.

PERTANDINGAN AKHIR CHOIR ANTI DADAH

Last Monday, 26th September 2011 at 1.30 pm, the final competition for Anti Drug Choir was held at RTB. SR Sg Liang was the 8th finalist. It was a challenging competition and tough too. All the schools were very good. Our pupils did their best. Though we didn't get to be in the top 5 but we managed to be in the finals throughout Brunei and we're in the 7th place. Thanks a lot to the pupils for your effort and time during practices and rehearsals. Thanks also to teachers in charge, Cg Noor Siti Azlina, Cg Siti Hasiah and Cg Sandy. Also we would like to say our highest appreciation to our ex GB, Cg Jamal, for making his time to be there and give us the FULLEST SUPPORT from the beginning till the final competition. And also thanks to our PGB, Cg Siti Norradziah and Cg Sylvia for coming and support us that afternoon. Really appreciate it.


Though our pupils were dissapointed with the result but we managed to cheer them up with a treat of FUN DONUT sponsored by our PGB, Cg Siti Norradziah.


Lastly we would like to thank BMC for sponsoring our choir team clothes.


Comgratulations again to SR Sg Liang Choir Team for making it to the Finals. We'll try again next year.

Anti Dadah Choir Competition

Alhamdulillah. Last Thursday, 23rd June 2011. SR Sungai Liang managed to be in the top 10 finalist for the Anti Dadah Choir Competition which was held in SR Yayasan, Berakas. Congratulations to our choir team. And not forgetting to Cg Azlina, Cg Farah, Cg Hanani and Zainab for your effort. Thanks also to Cg Sylvia and Cg Siti hawa for your moral support during our practices. :D


Final competition will be held in September. Date is to confirmed later.
